The theme this year is MIRRORED ANATOMIES, an opportunity to explore a wide range of subjects that illustrate the inversion, (a)symmetry and duplication of anatomical forms.

We accept diverse media – from drawing to medical imaging to sculpture, but also painting, photography & poetry.

Anatomy Tutorial: Upper Limb

Surgical society x Anatomy society are pleased to announce their preclinical anatomy tutorials are back again!

With small group teaching from older years these tutorials cover high-yield information, example SBAs and give you
an opportunity to ask any questions you have around one of the biggest topics in 2nd year.

Thursday 23 January: Head and Neck

Annual Inter-Uni Pub Quiz

Sign up now to take on students at King’s, Barts, St George’s, Imperial and Cambridge at the annual Halloween Quiz hosted at Guy’s Bar!

UCL Anatomy Society are collaborating with St George’s, Bart’s, Imperial and Cambridge and KCL Anatomy Societies to bring you the Interuni Anatomy Society Pub Quiz. Come and show off your knowledge and make your university proud and mingle with students from other universities!

– Time: 6:30-8:30 pm
– Location: Guy’s Bar, London Bridge – Guy’s Campus, SE1 9RT
– Price: £1 per participant (pay at the door), or FREE for KCL Anatomy Society members

Welcome Event #2: ‘Forensics: Anatomy of a Crime’ Talk by Dr Wendy Birch

No start of the academic year would be complete without our annual Forensics talk by UCL’s very own Dr Wendy Birch.

Interested in finding out more about a career in forensics? Want to see how anatomy can be applied in the real world? Or maybe you fancy yourself to be in the next CSI?!

UCL Anatomy Society welcomes you to the first talk of the year, and it promises to be a great one!

Dr Wendy Birch will be taking you on a journey through the most fascinating forensic cases she has encountered from her work. Her talk will give you a brilliant insight into what a career in forensics is like.

Dr Birch manages the anatomy lab and was recently voted ‘Anatomy Technician of the Year’. She has special academic interests in forensic osteology and archaeology along with her work as a forensics consultant.

This event is FREE to attend, so be sure not to miss out!

Welcome Event #1: Wellcome Collection Visit + Social

Come along for the fascinating ‘Being Human’ exhibition at the Wellcome Collection – our local museum! This will be the first of many art-related events hosted by the society in the run-up to our annual Exhibition!

‘Being Human’ explores what it means to be human in the 21st century. It reflects our hopes and fears about new forms of medical knowledge, and our changing relationships with ourselves, each other and the world. Featuring 50 artworks and objects.

We will be meeting in front of the Wellcome Collection with a small UCL Anatomy Soc sign.

Afterwards join us for a food social with plenty of drinks and snacks! Get to know our members and find out all the fantastic events we have planned for you this year! The social will be held in the Cruciform Library Group Study Room.
