Anatomy society are partnering with 3rd year UCL medical student Deborah Alawode, who does competitive weightlifting at an international level, to teach you more about weightlifting and the body!
Deborah will be talking you through the techniques of her lifts as well as her story to this point, whilst we will be teaching you the anatomy behind these lifts to improve your knowledge and showing you how this can be done effectively and safely.

So whether you’re a seasoned pro who wants to learn a little bit more about the anatomy behind your workouts, or a complete beginner who just wants to get stuck in, come along and get involved!

A Young Doctor’s Notebook Screening!

Anatomy Society are here with a screening of a few episodes of A Young Doctor’s Notebook which stars Daniel Radcliffe! (FREE FOOD OFFERED)

The series follows Dr. Vladimir Bomgard reading his diary and reliving the events from when he was a younger doctor (played by Daniel!) years ago working in Russia in 1917 during the Russian Revolution, interacting with his team, trying to treat patients and their intriguing illnesses. The show is medical based but also a bit of a comedy.

Come along if you fancy having a chill evening, with some lovely free food and a bit of Daniel! See you all there!

Inter-University Halloween Pub Quiz

Whichever it is, UCL Anatomy Society has you covered with our next event, the Inter University Halloween Pub Quiz!

Hosted by King’s College Anatomy Society at Belushi’s bar, London Bridge, the quiz will feature rounds of anatomy, Halloween and general knowledge.

There will be teams from UCL, King’s, St George’s and Bart’s, so you’ll have a chance to meet students from around London, and the winning team will receive a £50 bar tab prize!

Tickets are only £1 as long as you are a society member, but they are very limited, so make sure you reserve a place using the EventBrite link below. Once live, you can then purchase your ticket on the student union website:

Pathology Museum Visit

We’re looking forward to welcoming you all to our next event – a visit and a private tour of  the UCL Pathology Museum at the Royal Free, on Monday 15th October!Forensics

***We have some information to give which is important for all of those coming to the event to read:

1) TICKETS: As with our last event, all of our free tickets have been taken which is great news, however it is REALLY IMPORTANT that everyone with a ticket needs to come to the event, and if you know you cannot make it, to cancel your ticket on EventBrite so that others can attend instead.

2) LOCATION: The Pathology museum can be found on the 2nd floor of the Royal Free hospital. If anyone has any trouble finding it on the day, please message the society on Facebook or by email (

3) PHOTOS: We will be taking a group photo, most likely at the beginning, if anyone does not want to be a part of this, please let us know on the day.

Forensics: The Anatomy of a Crime

anatomy-of-a-crimeInterested in finding out more about a career in forensics? Want to see how anatomy can be applied in the real world? Fancy yourself to be in the next CSI?! UCL Anatomy Society welcomes you to the first event of the year, and it promises to be a great one!

Dr Wendy Birch will be taking you on a journey through the most fascinating forensic cases she has encountered from her work. Her talk will give you a brilliant insight into what a career in forensics is like.

Dr Birch, a very familiar face around the university, manages the anatomy lab and was voted ‘Anatomy Technician of the Year’ at a recent awards ceremony. She has special academic interests in forensic osteology and archaeology along with her work as a forensics consultant.

This is a free-to-attend event helping to showcase what we do at the society, so be sure not to miss out!
